Abusive Debt Collectors Verdict

I want to send a hearty congratulations to my partner Mark Frenkel and our friend and co-counsel Dean Malone for their verdict today after a two week trial.  We had the honor of representing a gentlemen who had multiple racist, vulgar and threatening messages left on his voice mail  by a debt collection company. The employee and the company tried to deny that they had made the calls and left the messages.  A Dallas county jury today let them know that not only were they not believable, but that  such conduct would not be tolerated.  A verdict was returned today in excess of 1.6 million dollars, including 1.5 million in punitive damages.  WFAA in Dallas immediately picked up the story, see it at: http://www.wfaa.com/news/consumer/Vulgar-voicemails-force-debt-collector-to-pay-15M-95163714.html
