Product liability and medical malpractice attorney Scott B. Frenkel was born in Phoenix and raised in St. Louis. In 1989, he relocated to Dallas to work for two prominent law firms before founding Frenkel & Frenkel with his brother Mark and colleague Gene Burkett.

Initially, the new firm represented an Austin insurance company and a Joplin, Missouri trucking company. Within a few short months, the three founding attorneys decided to dedicate their careers to representing plaintiffs in personal injury cases of all types.
